NOT KNOWING THE POSTAL REQUIREMENTS CAN COST YOU MONEY. The following are some guidelines to keep in mind for your next mailing. Feel free to give us a call...PPS is your Business Mail Expert.

  1. A direct mailing is 200 pieces or more of at least 2 identical pieces
  2. You cannot personalize your piece (special info. to a specific recipient)
  3. You need to have an address & barcode area of 2”H x 4”W to receive the best postage rates
  4. Your mail piece needs to meet postal requirements for thickness to receive the best postage rates
  5. Your mail piece needs to be a certain size and dimension to receive the best postage rates
  6. You don’t need to spend your own money on a permit…you can use ours for free
  7. Your mail piece needs to weigh 3.3 oz or less to receive the cheapest postage possible
  8. Use a “Return Service Requested” on direct mail will cost you money for every piece you get back
  9. If sending a reply envelope, you need to barcode the reply envelope in order to get the cheapest postage on the outgoing envelope
  10. PPS can “clean” your mailing list so you won’t incur the expense of mailing pieces that won’t get delivered

  12. On a self-mailer, if the fold is on the bottom only one tab is needed (check other requirements)
